The posts on this site cover various topics of interest to me including programming, all things data (analysis/visualization/engineering/science), web app development, android, and/or the environment. As a disclaimer, my language of choice is Python and I operate on a Windows machine.

My name is Kain Nanne. I am a Dutch-American who grew up in the sticks of Des Moines, Iowa.
In 2014, I graduated from Iowa State University with a double major in information systems and marketing, as well as completed a minor in statistics. Subsequently, I received my MSc. from VU University Amsterdam in a joint program of Information Sciences with University of Amsterdam.
My professional experience includes working as a data analyst specializing in business intelligence reporting for digital marketing campaigns. I have also worked remotely as a developer contributing to webapps and data science pipelines in Python. Currently I work full time in Amsterdam as a data analyst building data query tools and reporting pipelines within the scientific publishing industry.
I enjoy running, cycling, gardening and drinking beer, and consider myself an expert traveler. My personal accomplishments include biking the whole countries of Singapore, and Cambodia on a 29'r mountian bike.
My passion lies in learning new technologies and continuing to challenge myself. I enjoy programming for analyzing data, developing web apps, building machine learning models and creating visualizations. On a daily basis I typically work in Python, SQL, KNIME, and Tableau. Being part of a fun team, and continuing to learn really motivate me. I highly value the flexibility to work remotely, and enjoy a healthy balance of hard work with intense fun.
